Just surfing the web and found a good statistics for sharing. Got this from a friends blog. Its quite an old statistics but gives a clear picture where Malaysia is in freshwater prawn industry globally. We definitely behind Thailand and Vietnam but we are in the top 15.
I made some analysis of the pie chart and found these conclusion:
1) China is no 1 because of cheap manpower, cheap sources and of course a huge country.
2) USA is the only western country in the top 15 (so eventhough we think they are modern, but they are still behind)
3) Perhaps (correct me if im wrong) only 2 four season countries (USA, Taiwan) is in the top 15
4) Most of the countries are Third World
5) Top 6 countries are of Asia Continent
